Whereas the draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka General Provident Fund Rules, 2016 which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section (1) of Section 3 read with Section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), read with Section 8 of the Provident Funds Act, 1925 (Central Act XIX of 1952) was published as required by clause (a) of Sub-Section (2) of Section 3 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 in Notification No: FD 32 MuBhaNi 2016, dated:13.9.2017 inviting objections or suggestions from persons likely to be affected thereby, within 15 days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. Whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 21 st June 2018. And whereas, no objections / suggestions were received by the State Government. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section (1) of Section 3 read with Section 8 of the Karnataka Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act No. 14 of 1990), the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules namely:- Rules, 2017 RULES 1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka General Provident Fund (Amendment) (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of rule 4.- In the Karnataka General Provident Fund Rules, 2016 in rule 4, after sub-rule (7), the following shall be inserted, namely:- (7A) The State Information Commissioner, Karnataka shall be eligible to subscribe to the fund in accordance with these rules at his request: Provided that, the State Information Commissioner must have served as the State Information Commissioner in the Karnataka State Information Commission for a period of not less than one year. Note:- If any doubt arises about the interpretation of these provisions, the matter shall be referred to the Government of Karnataka. Sub: Publication of intake and Additional seat matrix of M.Sc. Courses in Private Colleges during the academic year 2018-19. Ref: 1. Notification No: HFW 253 MME 2000, dated 05.07.2002. 2. Letter No. DME/NRC(1)/01/2018-19, dated 24-12-2018. In Government order No: HFW 18 PTD 2006, dated 19.01.2006, regulations called Admission to Post Graduate Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Pharmacy,, Physiotherapy Courses Regulations, 2006 were issued. The Director of Medical Education has proposed the seat matrix of Post Graduate Courses in Private colleges in the State for the academic year 2018-19 vide reference at (2) above. The Government quota seats for M.Sc., Course available in Government Colleges and in Private Colleges have been reserved 50% for in-service and 50% for merit candidates as per the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to M.Sc., Degree Course in (Amendment) Rules, 2002 vide reference (1) above. In Government Order No: HFW 211 RGU 2016, dated 28.09.2016, the percentage of seat sharing in the Private and Physiotherapy colleges in the State has been published with respect to Post Graduate Courses for the academic year 2017-18, in the ratio of 25:75 as 25% for the Government Quota and 75% for the Management Quota respectively. This ratio is applicable for 2018-19 academic year also. The Managements of Private colleges in the State shall fill their management quota seats by following the norms as prescribed by the Government of Karnataka and the concerned Apex bodies. Therefore, the Government of Karnataka hereby determines the intake under Section 45 (10) (b) of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Act, 1994 and publishes the Additional seat matrix there under for M.Sc., Courses conducted in Private Colleges applicable for the current academic year 2018-19 as specified in the Annexure- I to VI The Tuition fee chargeable from the candidates in Government and Physiotherapy colleges and Government seats in Private colleges shall be as per the rates prescribed in the Government Orders issued from time to time. The admission of the candidates is subject to the approval by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru as per the intake fixed for the academic year 2018-19 by the University.
