LEAVE OF ABSENCE Shri Prakash Yashwant Ambedkar (Nominated) was granted leave of absence from all sittings of the House during the current Session of the Rajya Sabha. 9. Government Bill- Withdrawan The prevention of Apartheid in Sports Bill, 1988 Shri Mukul Wasnik (Minister of State in the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Youth Affairs and Sports) with additional Charge of the Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs) moved for leave to withdraw the Prevention of Apartheid in Sports Bill, The motion was adopted.

4 The bill was withdrawn. 10. SHOURT DURATION DISCUSSION Shri Satish Agarwal raised a discussion on the operations being carried on by Life Insurance Corporation throughout the country regarding lapse of L.I.C. Policies after payment of first premium in quarterly mode. Members took part in the discussion. Shri Manmohan Singh (Minister of Finance) replied to the debate. The discussion was concluded. 11. CALLING ATTENTION TO MATTER OF URGENT PUBLIC IMPORTANCE Shri Viren J. Shah called the attention of the Minister of Urban Affairs and Employment to the replies to UO 1875 dated and UO 4239 the replies to the above questions and the information now supplied about the regularisation of 184 cases since then and give the names of 278 occupants who vacated since with particulars of accommodation and names of 184 cases regularised alongwith the total loss of revenue to the Government by this action. Shri P. K. Thungon (Minister of State in the Ministry of Urban Affairs and Employment) made a statement. Thereafter, Members sought clarification on the together. Shri P. K. Thungon replied to the clarifications. 12. GOVERNMENT (1) The Appropriation (No. 3) Bill, 1995 as passed by the Lok (2) The Appropriation (No. 4) Bill, 1995, as passed by the Lok Sabha. Shri Manmohan Singh (Minister of Finance) moved: "That the Bill to provide for the authorisation of appropriation of moneys out of the Consolidated Fund of India to meet the amounts spent on certain services during the financial year ended on the 31st day of March, 1993.In excess of the amounts granted for those services and for that year as passed by the Lok Sabha, be taken into consideration." Shri Manmohan Singh also moved: "That the Bill to authorise payment and appropriation of certain further sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the financial year as passed by the Lok Sabha, be taken into consideration."
